Firstly, I have made a concept, then basic shapes of the station in 3d and matte painting for the ground surface. Then I've added more details to 3d models using kitbash. At last, I've rendered all of this and done final compositing in photoshop.
It is always interesting to play with light and view angles. Since the scene was made in 3d, you can make more style frames to improve the story if you want. Some of the test renders can see below:
